I’d like an omelet, plain, and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast, no mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce. And a cup of coffee.

Jack Nicholson plays an asshole.  Very well.  Karen Black plays an idiot.  Also very well.  I was told that it was like a glimpse into the generation who fought against Vietnam, but were slowly becoming yuppies.  That seems believable.

Wait a second.  You want this place to be declared as a nature reserve.  Maybe I can help.

This movie felt like it took much longer than 90 minute run time.  That is not a criticism.  The pacing and the scenery lends itself to a sense of being out on in the Tibetan wilderness.  Parts of the movie are disturbing, but none are overly graphic.  Some animals get skinned, but no people.  While not particularly pleasant, the reality of this story rang particularly true for me.  No overly glamorized Hollywood movie here.  Well, that is until someone realizes that this is a movie and someone decides to re-pitch it as Kundun 2: Kundun Harder.

Crimson Rivers 2: Angels of the Apocalypse

In French please.
This movie is about as good as the last one.  Jean Reno is very Jean Reno-y.  Cyril Raffaelli’s name in the credits got my hopes up, but I did not recognize his face in the movie.  The parkour used was wonderful, but not District B13 level.  If you like that movie, then you like Luc Besson’s stories and this is one of Luc Besson’s stories.
